Congressperson Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday asked his associates to "right the wrong" dedicated by the Duterte organization against Senator Leila de Lima by requiring her discharge from confinement.
In a benefit discourse, Trillanes said De Lima's proceeded with confinement over medication related charges is a "reasonable instance of political mistreatment."
"Gaya nating lahat, hindi perpekto si Sen. De Lima pero alam natin, somewhere down in our souls, na hindi siya included sa illicit medications at lalo nang hindi siya sedate ruler. Hindi po siya criminal para tratuhin na parang isang criminal," Trillanes said.
"Pinaratangan lang siya. There was no unmistakable activity done at all to justify her imprisonment," he said.
Trillanes said the Senate should express a similar shock it did on account of Superintendent Marvin Marcos, who could leave detainment after the criminal allegations against him and the other policemen were minimized.
"By any settled standard, that is treachery. Kaya ang aking apela sa aking mga kasamahan dito sa Senado, panahon na para ituwid natin ang malaking pagkakamaling ito at sumama sa aking panawagan na palayain si Sen. Leila De Lima," he said.
Trillanes said it was "a great opportunity to make the best decision."
De Lima has been confined at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame since February over assertions that she was associated with the unlawful medication exchange inside the national prison.
Trillanes additionally approached the Senate open request and perilous medications board of trustees led by Senator Panfilo Lacson to direct a request on the assertions of medication masters against De Lima.
Trillanes said summoning drug identities to a Senate test is important to demonstrate that the Duterte organization pressured them to prepare stories against a political adversary.
