Duterte's executive assistant Christopher "Bong" Go also confirms the appointment of C/Supt Ronald dela Rosa as the next PNP chief.
It has remembered that Duterte has 3 choices for the PNP chief.
Rodrigo Duterte's three choices for the top post of the Philippine National Police (PNP) have all worked with the presumptive president as former chief of Davao City Police Office (DCPO).
In an interview on Sunday (May 15), Duterte said the final choice could be Chief Supt. Ramon Apolinario, officer-in charge of the Mimaropa Region or Chief Supt. Ronald dela Rosa, executive officer of the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development, or Sr. Supt. Rene Aspera, the chief of the PNP-Anti-Kidnapping Group.
Apolinario was DCPO chief from July 2008 to January 2010, while Aspera served from January 2010 to February 2012. Dela Rosa held the post from February 2012 to October 2013.
Dela Rosa, who was recently relieved from his post for allegedly expressing support for Duterte on his social media accounts, is the only one who is a native of Davao.
One of his biggest accomplishments was the rescue of a kidnap victim from Metro Manila who was brought all the way to Davao City by her abductors.
The three former DCPO chiefs all recieved various honors while holding the post.
